Galeria Romană is pleased to invite you Thursday, March 9, 2017, 7:00 pm, at the exhibition opening “Dans mon Coeur”, the artist Christian Paraschiv.
Founding member, along with Paul Gherasim of Prolog group, representative artist of the 80’s generation, Christian Paraschiv proposes an unusual exhibition. Oils on canvas, drawings on transparent paper, transfer radiography and gold foil, graphite on canvas, small tapestry, all deals with the theme intersection of biological sciences and their incorporation into fine art. Recent personal experience, through medical examinations type MRI and other specialized technologies, is currently the artistic response to the exhibition.
Concerned over time in experimentalist zone of Bio-Art, Christian Paraschiv is one of the first artists in the world who have created works based on anatomical studies of her own body, DNA, medical imaging, techniques for making artificial skin by sampling cells, and more. Emblematic works are present in important collections, institutional and private, in France, United States, Belgium, Britain, Germany, Romania.
The exhibition “Dans mon coeur” presents such interpreted images of his own heart, using techniques of the most diverse, causing a confrontation between the observer’s gaze on the process alive, biological, and interaction with the artistic conscience of the creator.
Christian Paraschiv lives and works in Paris since 1986, and starting 2010 he works in the studio of master Paul Gherasim in Bucharest, due to the desire of the latter.
The exhibition is open from 9 March to 1 April 2017, and the visiting schedule is:
